SIM not able to detect UUID, Serial Number & Product Type
Hi all,
I have just installed HP SIM 5.1 yesterday. Upon perfoming auto-discovery, SIM is able to detect all the servers within the environment. However, I notice for some servers, SIM is able to detect the UUID, serial number and the product type, while not for some other servers.
FYI, all the servers in the environment are HP proliant model. And for those servers that are not able to display s/n and product type, SIM is able to detect the OS version, hardware description and some other info.
Is there any configuration that I missed out? Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

Make sure Agents are installed on those servers and SNMP is configured correctly.

These can be different issues.
Failure to identify the product type can be resolved by getting SNMP right.
Serial number can be incorrect if the motherboard was replaced and the new serial number not entered into the BIOS.

Hi all,
Thanks for the reply. I figured out that the missing info is due to the version of the agent installed on those servers. Once I have upgraded to the latest version, the problem is solved.
