SIM Sending numerous alerts on iLo's
All,
We receive numerous alerts daily from several of our remote branch servers regarding iLo's being unreachable
Subject: SERVERNAME: System is unreachable: Automated SIM 5.3 Alert
Event Severity: Critical
Event received: 10-Dec-2009, 12:19:38
Event description: The current system is no longer reachable from the central management server, hardware status polling has marked this system as not responding
We have verified the speed/duplex on both the server and switch to be the same. And we aren't seeing any errors on the switch.
Any ideas as to why this might be happening, hate to get all these emails everyday.
Thanks

Re: SIM Sending numerous alerts on iLo's
We are seeing the same thing here - ever since our upgrade to PSP 8.30 and Chassis upgrades to 2.60.

Re: SIM Sending numerous alerts on iLo's
We are still facing this problem. HP support has had us go to Options>Protocol Settings>System Protocol Settings and do a search for the iLO in question.
Once found, change the Ping (ICMP) settings from 5 seconds and 2 tries to 7 seconds and 3 tries.
While this resolves the issue, it is only temporary as the next polling session reverts this back to the default....
If anyone else has a solution, please let us know...
