Sim v5.1 - can't add a system while specifying SNMP community string
I just installed Systems Insight Manager v5.1 (build C.05.01.00.00) and when I add a Proliant server by options - Discovery - Manual and specify the SNMP community string (under more settings). I will get this error:
The system could not be added for the following reasons:
The system could not be added. ( ip address )
If I just specify the IP address and nothing else, then the system will be added. However, I must change the SNMP community string in another step.
This would not be a problem for just a few systems. However, I'm trying to add >800 systems by using a host file exported by an older version of Sim (v5.0SP3). In processing that file I got the same error on all servers. It will only work if I remove all SNMP community string entries. I can't do that 'cos then I'll have to update the various strings on all these servers manually.
I've been using Cim/Sim from the first version. In place upgrade from v5.0SP3 to v5.1 didn't work either. The setup crashed.
