SIM - which agents on server
I have installed SIM 5.2, some Servers in my network are identified as servers, some are not. Which agents do I have to install, that servers are detected as servers?
Best Regards

Re: SIM - which agents on server
what kind of servers are these ? if you have snmp enabled on these servers and the community strings match with those in hp sim with at least read hp sim should be able to tell what they are when it discovers them.
there are hp insight management agents for all of HP's supported os'es windows,linux,hp-ux,openvms and tru64 unix on HP hardware. all these are available from the hp web site with their installation instruction s and how to get them talking to HP SIM.
good luck

Re: SIM - which agents on server
SNMP configuration seems to be ok. I have installed HP System Management Homepage, Array utilities and Integrated Management Log Viewer.
In HP SIM they are not identified as server.
Do I have to install another agent for correct identification?

Re: SIM - which agents on server
for full management etc install the agents, but hp sim should be able to identify hp proliant servers as servers plus os and other basic info just with correctly configured snmp settings. double chack the snmp strings/settings delete the systems affected in hp sim and get it to rediscover them.
