SIM won't open after fresh install of SIM 4.1 sp1

I have just installed SIM on a Server 2000 box and I can not get SIM to open.

I get the screen asking me to accept the cert but after that my browser locks up.

I think its a Java issue. I have uninstalled and reinstalled JAVA many times and this does not seem to help. I am currently running the Java that I am prompted to install the first time I open SIM.

I have already installed SIM and tested it in my lab for weeks. This is very frustrating because it’s slowing me down. I have a lot planned with SIM.

Thanks

Rob

Hello

I mean the critical update for HPSIM4.1 SP1 which must be installed after HPSIM4.1 SP1.

Re: SIM won't open after fresh install of SIM 4.1 sp1

Yes everything that can be installed is installed. I am rebuilding the box today with Server 2003. I don't have anymore time to be stuck at this spot.

My problem appears to be a JAVA problem and so matter what version I install or how many different ways I uninstall and reinstall it. JAVA is still not working correctly. I noticed other people having the same problem. They were all using Windows Server 2000 sp4. I will also tell you all that JAVA was working fine on this box before I installed SIM.

I hope HP gets away from using JAVA or comes up with some instruction for how to avoid this problem in the future.

Here is a link from JAVA's website with a bunch of other people having a similar problem and none of them were able to correct this.
