SIM4.2 Can't Send E-Mail to Exch 5.5 Receive "Sending failed; 505 Authentication required" Error

Our SIM 4.2 server can't send e-mail notifications to our Exchange 5.5 server; we receive the error: Sending failed; 505 Authentication required. Our Exchange is set to only accept authenticated connections; this is mandated by Air Force security requirements. Is there a way to set SIM 4.2 to send authentication credentials to the exchange server when it attempts to send e-mail?

No. The best way to accomplish this is to set up a local SMTP server on your HP SIM server and have it accept anonymous emails from SIM and nowhere else. Your SMTP server can then forward it to Exchange with credentials.

Alternatively, instead of using SIM's built-in emailer, create a custom command that uses a command line email too that can pass the credentials.
