SIM5 SP5 - Effects of blocking port 80

OK, I've read the "...through firewalls..." brief and the "SIM Security" brief. I know that the servers give status back on 80 for software version and tasks. What happens if we block 80 from the DMZ (monitored servers) back to the LAN (CMS)? The firewall brief mentions CMS polling every 15 minutes for 2 hours...so, what does that mean?

How is everyone else handling DMZ or internet status requests. Should I increase the software status poll interval and map that 161 to 80 port conversation in the firewall?
