SMH timeouts on Linux caused by hosts.allow / hosts.deny configuration
Hi,
we have a Proliant DL 385 running in our DMZ. We want to monitor the machine with HP SIM from the internal network and to access the SMH from the IT Management clients.
The machine is running Suse SLES 10 with 64 Bit Kernel 2.6.16.27-0.9. We installed PSP 7.90 for Linux
Since the box is located in our DMZ we want to restrict the network communication to the maximum.
We also using the hosts.allow hosts.deny files to limit the access to the machine. THis is the point where we stuck right now. In the hosts.deny we have the line:
ALL : ALL EXCEPT LOCAL
If we uncomment this line, everything works fine and the SMH loads without a timeout problem.
Question:
What do we have to configure in the hosts.allow to work with the SMH
Kind Regards
