SNMP Ports

We have agents running on ports other than 161 and would like these monitored through HP SIM.

Is this possible?

Re: SNMP Ports

What are these Agent?

If it supported you will need to be sure to have the MIB'S on you're server.

Re: SNMP Ports

The Agents are on old hardware in remote locations and would require onsite changes.

The MIBs are already on the server.

We are able to monitor the agents through other software currently and were hoping to be able to do this with HP SIM.

Re: SNMP Ports

I think if the MIB'S are installed on both side client and server you should get message of any error pop up and even with insight if any service close's of you're apllication you could get messages from HP Agent if it configure correctly.

Re: SNMP Ports

HP SIM makes calls to the standard SNMP layer provided by the OS. To the extent you could make (for example) Microsoft's SNMP talk on those other ports (without deleting send/receive on 161/162 at the same time) it could work...
