SNMP to WBEM

We are planning to migrate SIM from SNMP based notification to WBEM based notification. Please let me know how I can integrate it with OVO for monitoring.

If a customer has both SIM and OVO we normaly use SIM for the HW Monitoring and OVO for all the rest (OS /DB / Apps / sometimes also "IT-Services").
In such a case Insight Remote Support Advanced IRSA is also installed or at least WEBES. In such a case the easiest integration is forwarding the Service Events to OVO. (Options -> Automatic Event handling ...)

The disadvantage of this solution is the management of the objects/systems inside to
management tools. If you have two or more organization units (Windows- / Unix - / Vmware-Team) and many systems there are better ways to do it. There is always a more expensive or time consuming way.

If you migrate from SNMP to WBEM for security reason. Install a OVO agent on your Server and you can use an OVO agent command inside the SIM automatic event handling script.
