After upgrading SIM 5.0 to SIM 5.1 SP1 (with hotfixes), the Software Version Status Polling task hangs and cannot complete, it just sits at "Pending". It does not produce anything in the StdOut or StdErr boxes.
Running the task on just one server at a time manually produces the same result, the task hangs indefinitely.
The VCR and VCAs on clients seems to work fine, I can distribute PSPs, update, etc.
Has anyone seen this or have ideas on what to try to fix it?
thanks

Solution
I've seen an instance where a number of different jobs would never start, but I believe that issue was fixed.
With this old issue the way to get things moving was a restart of HPSIM. Not exactly elegant.
You could try looking in the logs that HSPIM maintains.

Re: Software Version Status Polling Hangs
Restarting the SIM service didn't do it, but restarting the whole box made the Software Version Status Polling work again. Thanks for your help.

Re: Software Version Status Polling Hangs
You might just want to see if there's a resource constraint somewhere.
The thing I see is the WMI Mapper process here starts to consume memory and needs restarting to free it up again.
