some confused stuffs about Insight management agent(IMA)
Currently I am drowning in the study of HPSIM, and I have a basic understanding of insight management agent. It could collect various of hardware datas from managed system.
But my leader want me to furtherly research the data collection strategy of these agents.
So I wanna know whether there are some configuration files to determine the way in which SIM collect managed system's datas? and how they take effects? warm-hearted fellows, help!!!

Re: some confused stuffs about Insight management agent(IMA)
The agents live on the servers and monitor the hardware. If there are issues they'll generate an SNMP Trap.
HPSIM can be configured to have a couple of different tasks run, the first collects data from the client servers and stores it in the database, various reports can be run on this.
You can also configure a task that collects less data but keeps a historical set of data, so you can track storage growth etc.
There are no configuration files, you need to look at the Scheduled tasks as well as possibly adding a data collection task that doesn't overwrite data.
If you have people that can write something to extract data from the database then you can add additional reporting.

Thanks Rob! Your description is seamless~
Anyway, I have to finish my job, it seems that finding the configuration files is a mission impossible. hehe~
Thanks again for your kindly and continuing reply~
