SQL Migration from SQL2005 to SQL2008
HP SIM ver: 6.2
I was able to upgrade from SQL2005 to SQL2008 without issues, I modified some configuration files on hp sim and everything worked.
My only issue is that the Crystal Report Application which comes with HP SIM, still has the old SQL information. Is there a configuration file I need to modify to get Crystal Report to point to the updated SQL DB?
Do I need to restart a service in regards to Crystal Report?
Thanks,
David

Re: SQL Migration from SQL2005 to SQL2008
Hi David,
I wonder how did you do the Database upgrade from SQL Server 2005 into 2008 ?

Re: SQL Migration from SQL2005 to SQL2008
Theres a link here I used as reference:
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/management/hpsim/sql2005_move_hpsim52.pdf
I added my AD HP SIM SQL service account to the new sql instance on SQL 2008. Made this account owner of the new migrated database.
Ran mxinitconfig command on HP SIM Server, which reinitialize lots of the configurations.
After that everything just worked. Except for the Crystal Report feature on HP SIM, which is not a big deal, but it would be nice to have.
