System Identification
We are using SIM 4.2 and the systems are being discovered and showing under All Systems. However, a few show as Unknown. The SNMP settings for the unknown servers match those that are already being discoverd and identified. Any other ideas why they might not be identified?

Re: System Identification
Well number one, even hp would tell you this upgrade to 5 SP5,imagine tring to work with very old system with very new client agent.
You may discovered brand new problem that no one will support because of 4.2.
The installation of HPSIM 5.0 will upgrade your 4.2 automatically. you dont have to run a seperate utility to do the upgrade
Have a nice day!

Re: System Identification
Having seen the 4.2 to 5 upgrade blow chunks I would recommend exporting your host file and discovery ranges and security settings then install 5sp5 fresh with a remote database unless you have small environment.
I will tell you that even at 5sp5 there are unknown issues specifically relating to vmware guests and the WMI mapper that I'm told by HP they are working dilligently on.
