System Unreachable

Can anyone confirm the ping process that HPSIM 4.1 uses to check on the 'live' status of servers. I had a server that had blackscreened and could definately not be pinged!

HPSIM did not alert, it alerted once it was available, I seen this in the past where system unreachable is not very reliable for alerting.

Coul dsomeone shed any light on this?
