Insight Manager Tabs not appearing

I have a server that is not displaying all the tabs for insight manager. Normally I have 5 tabs Home, Settings, Tasks, Tools and Logs. However one server will only display three tabs Home, Setting and Logs

I have recently upgraded the HP insight management agents to version 7.10.0.0 but I still have the same issue, can anyone advise please as I can't get any worthwhile information from the server

I have seen this on my servers as well. In my case the tabs re-appeared after a while. It usually happens when the server is recently rebooted. It is as if the agents are still gathering data and do not have all the tabs available yet. Closing and opening IE completely, causing Java to reload, also helps sometimes.

Is the issue you are seeing exactly as described above or are you seeing that only the "Home" tab is showing up?

The empty page with only the Home-tab is an issue that is caused almost always by one of the applications using the SMH timing out. The SMH is an aggregated view of several applications. If one of those applications fails to respond in a timely manner then it causes a time-out and the SMH fails to render the page properly. The 2 most common problems that cause this issue are #1 the VC Agent is not configured properly pointing to a VCRM (or the VCRM is not reachable) or #2 there is some SNMP misconfiguration for the webagents that is causing the agents to not respond in a timely manner.

What is SMH?

You seem to be right about vcagent not correctly configured because when i try to surf to it it says, "The Version Control Agent encountered an error while obtaining the software and firmware inventory." Tried reinstalling, same problem. Tried uninstalling, rebooting and installing again. Still says the same...Do you have any idea about that?

Sorry, SMH is the System Management Homepage. It is what you see when you browse to port 2301/2381.

Did you configure your Version Control Agent to point to a repository? You need to have a system running the Version Control Repository Manager software and your systems running Version Control Agent should be configured with that system as the repository. If you have no plans to use Version Control then you can just uninstall the VCA software.

Yes I have a working vcrm. At least my sim server thinks its ok but the other two servers don't. Is there any known issues with some vcagents/vcrm? I installed everything from the latest support pack, 7.2 I think. Downloaded a few weeks ago.
