Systems Insight Manager Sign-In Failure

Hello!

Yesterday I installed PSP 7.50 on our Insight Manager server, rebooted. After that we can't login anymore. We get a red text just above the User Name field saying "Sign-In Failure".

Today I saw that PSP 7.51A was out so I installed that and rebooted. Same error appears. I have googled on the error and also searched hp.com for answers, but found nothing of value.

I have tried to logon with local administrator as well as domain accounts. Same result.

Is there anyway we can login now or do we have to reinstall Systems Insight Manager?

Best regards

Think SIM cannot access database, try this out from cmd, it removes your database password and lets you assign a new one.

mxpassword -r -x MxDBUserPassword
mxpassword -a -x MxDBUserPassword=

Re: Systems Insight Manager Sign-In Failure

Thank you. That did not help though. I got the same error after resetting the password.

When using mxuser --user "domain\user" --pass password I get the following error:

There was a problem connecting to the HP Systems Insight Manager server. Make su
re that:
1. Your username has been added to HP Systems Insight Manager.
2. Your username and password, if specified, are correctly spelled.
3. HP Systems Insight Manager is running.
4. You used '--' for any long options and double quotes if your username include
s a domain.
Example: --user "mydomain\myusername" --pass mypassword

It seems that your SIM database has been corrupted and must be restored from a backup.
