systems Insight Manager Status change forwarding to Operations Manager
Hi all,
as the title suggests, im looking for some assistance in figuring out how to get nodal status change events forwarded to operations manager 8.10
I have CIM 5.2 + SP2 with about 100 servers
I also have Operations manager 8.10.
I have setup the event forwarding between the CIM and OPman servers and get traps fine.
what im not seeing is status changes appear in OPman. Looking at the setup relationship between the two there are a number of event listers configured on the CIM server for the severity events i need to monitor. These forward fine with no problem.
Trying to setup a Status change forwarding listener is where im getting stuck.
all the policies and tools in Operations Manager are aimed at actualy snmp events and not status changes of agents or their subset, so theres no deployment of a toolset or policy i can use there, i'm thinking its needing some coding script.
Has anyone come accross this before??
Is it possible to forward status changes from CIM to OPman?
Is there a mechanism to accomplish this?

Re: systems Insight Manager Status change forwarding to Operations Manager
I've read the doc, and it's talking about the SNMP trap events generated by nodes on Insight, either by traps triggered by an agent on the node or via the polling from the insight box.
The are Event Status traps
I'm looking for Health status notfications.
I don't recieve a trap for those as its something i think the insight box detects on polling and just flags it up as a health status i.e not a battery failure, not a Temperature warning, not a software difference using VCR
Question:
difference between event status and health status?
