Systems/servers showing up as unknown
Hi all
Im using SIM 5.2.2
In the documentation it says this about firewall setup betwen networks.
Managing servers behind a firewall
HP SIM supports managing servers that are located behind a firewall when using the SSH, HTTPS, and WBEM protocols. HP does not recommend the SNMP and DMI protocols because they are not secure protocols. The firewall must be configured to allow this traffic through the firewall. The following ports are used:
WBEM uses HTTPS over port 5989
Web Agents use HTTPS over port 2381
DTF uses SSH-2 over port 22
After applying this to the firewall, I didnt even see the servers in SIM.
First we had to open ICMP, and then we could see the servers, but in firewall we are still seeing traffic on the following ports.
135 TCP
445 TCP
2301 TCP
3202 TCP
4096 TCP
8008 TCP
8222 TCP
3257 TCP
4095 TCP
1024 TCP
427 TCP
Now we have all theese ports open, but still the servers in the firewalled network is "unknown"
So far we are running SNMP, but in time we will change to WEBM.
Can anyone recomend how to continue?
