Tape library status changes

I just installed a new MSL5026 tape library at my work. I am getting emails from Insight Manager every time the mail slot is accessed and it is really annoying. Does anyone know how to exclude these emails from the notifications?

The associated MIB File Name for this trap is hpnetctz.mib and the MIB identifier SEMI-MIB

If you want to exclude the major events from the Tape then edit the Automatic event handling task that you have created which look like

"Select events where severity "is not" Major" (in Step 2)

"Select system where system name is " (in step 3)

This will exclude the Major events from the system

I want the major events, I just don't care about the library door being opened since I am the one that is opening it.

Hi Kevin,

If you do not want to receive these traps or want to change the trap to informational you can go into "Options | Events | SNMP trap settings", then select the SEMI-MIB name and the right trap.

From there you can change the event to informational or tell SIM not to handle that trap at all.

Here is the answer...Edit the Automatic event handling task as follows...

"Select Events where severity is Major and event category does not contain " (In step 2)

"Select system where name is " (In step 3)

Hi Kevin,

You can certainly exclude the traps as other posters have shown, but are you sure that the tape drive is associated with the right MIB? We have an MSL5026 and I have *never* seen a trap upon use of the mail slot in over a year of using Insight Manager.
