Test Traps from SFM via SMH
Does anyone know how I can send test traps to the CMS from SFM? I cannot seem to find a way via the SMH?

Not sure what the SFM is. But, from a Windows Server if you fire up the HP Management Agents GUI from Control Panel there's a Send Trap option there.
It should generate a Major Event on HPSIM.

Re: Test Traps from SFM via SMH
SFM is System Pault Management on HPUX systems. On Linux you send test traps from the SMH...can't seem to find a similar way on the SMH on HPUX.

Re: Test Traps from SFM via SMH
Hi,
Which particular features of SFM are you wanting to test?
For the EMS wrappers, you should be able to generate test indications by using /etc/opt/resmon/lbin/send_test_event on the command line (e.g. "/etc/opt/resmon/lbin/send_test_event disk_em") to send a test EMS event, and that should show up in HP SIM under the Events tab on the System Page for the system, once you've configured it subscribe to WBEM events on that system.
