The agent does not trust the HP Systems Insight Manager server. Establish a trust relationship
Hi,
I'm relatively new to using SIM, I was wondering what the quickest work-around would be to resolving the error I'm receiving from several servers when trying to replicate agent settings.
I did not perform the install/configuration of the product, but I notice that the HP Insight Manager service on our SIM server is running under a LOCAL machine account. Should it not run under a DOMAIN account with Admin privileges?
I'm running SIM 5.0 SP2.
Any help you could provide would be of great help.
Cheers,
Nate

Re: The agent does not trust the HP Systems Insight Manager server. Establish a trust relationship
Hi,
You mention two different issues.
Firstly if you are running SIM in a domain environment it is advisable to use a domain Admin account. Not the default ones but a new account created for SIM.
Secondly the trust error your are getting is because you probably are using "Trust by certificate" authentication. What i would suggest is to create a trust on one server and then replicate it to all the remaining.
To create a trust, go to System Management Homepage(SMH) of server through SIM console. In the SMH choose settings and Trusted Management Server. And in that space type IP address/server name. Once you present it it should inform you if its successful or failed.
Your then good to replicate to all other servers.

Re: The agent does not trust the HP Systems Insight Manager server. Establish a trust relationship
Thanks,
I'll give both items a try today. I reverted to a domain admin account for the service to run under, and created a login for it into Insight Manager.
I'm unable to see all pull-down menus that I can with the original set up account, but it looks to be related to the admin templates within Insight Manager.
Thanks for your suggestions.
Nate
