I am having a problem where software is not downloading from the VCRM, with the version control agent 2.0.7.10 you can manually type the administrator account name in when configuring the VCA (mine is adm1n) and works fine.
But when using an older agent like 2.0.1.30 you can only chose administrator from the drop down list and the software does not download.
As the software is not downloading i can't upgrade the VCA on the problem servers and would have to do it manually.
This is obviously a permissions thing but can't work out how to resolve.
does somebody know how i can resolve this issue?
thx

Solution
Using VCRM, create a "Custom Support Pack" with the only content being the newer version of VCA. In HP SIM select "Initial ProLiant Support Pack Install" and choose this new Support Pack you created and deploy it.

Re: The Smart Component file could not be retrieved from the Version Control Repository Manager
Also found i could use replicate agent settings and could replicate the settings from VCA 2.0.7.10 backwards to the earlier versions and even though it did not show the settings in the VCA it worked fine.
