Traps ignored from Systems behind NAT Router
We manage several Systems in many different Subnets with our HPSIM 5 SP3.
All works "fine".
But the CMS ignores Traps from Systems, that are located behind NAT Router/Firewalls, although I can manage these Systems from the GUI. The Traps arrive the CMS (which I can see with Netmon)on port 162.
"Accept unregistered Events" is activated.
Does anyone know how to make HPSIM to handle these events?

Re: Traps ignored from Systems behind NAT Router
In the globalsettings.props file modify the entry AllowAltIpForTrap=enabled --> AllowAltIpForTrap=disabled
Then restart the SIM service.
Then restart the SIM service.

Re: Traps ignored from Systems behind NAT Router
Thanks for the answer!
I changed the setting and did a reboot of the CRM.
Although I now get some "Generic unregistered" Events from DELL machines (behind the NAT router), I cannot see any traps from HP servers out of that subnet.
I use the "Send test trap" from the Management Homepage.
Any further suggestions?
Thanks in advanced
Jochen

Re: Traps ignored from Systems behind NAT Router
Hello , we have the same problem.
In the syslog of hp-ux server I read that cimserver tries to send event using the real ip address or hostname instead of nat ip address.
Any idea ?
Thanks in advance.
Maurizio
