trying to setup monitoring on a dl585 running solaris 10
HI,
I'm really struggling to setup montioring on a dl585 g2 server running solaris 10. I've installed the following
HPQhealth-2.2.0-solaris10-i386.tar.gz HPQhma-4.0.0-solaris10-i386.tar.gz HPQilo-1.3.0-solaris10-i386.tar.gz HPQsmh-4.1.0-solaris10-i386.tar.gz
I can't find any docs on how to setup the SMH in solaris properly or what the user accounts it creates at install do. I can discover it in SIM but can't see any faults on the server that I know has a dead dimm in.
Any advice if anyone has every got this to work is greatfully received.

Re: trying to setup monitoring on a dl585 running solaris 10
Hi
here is the user guide :
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib2/software1/pubsw-linux/p1443289248/v46807/HPQhma_smh_User_Guide.pdf
A few hints :
For the SMH :
By default it is he case on most OS, the SMH can be access by a browser : https://name of the machine or ip address:2381.
Use some Os credentials to logon to the web page. You probably used a root account to set up the SMH, therefore try this account to login.
For the agents: They rely on snmp and the reason why hp sim doesn't recieve anything from your machine is probably due to the fact that the snmpd.conf file has been configured properly yet.
Edit the file and set the different parameters like Rocommunity,etc..
page 16 of the document.
The whole doc is worth reading to set up everything properly.
Hope it helps,
fred
