Re: Unable to collect data from a Linux server

Hi All,

I have installed SNMP on the RHEL agent .When i did configure and repair, sending test trap also worked fine .

But Agent status not showing SNMP status in CMS ..! What may be the reason?

Thanks

Re: Unable to collect data from a Linux server

Minimum RPMs are (AFAIK) 'hp-health' and 'hp-snmp-agents'.

You can get them from this nice HP repo: http://downloads.linux.hp.com/SDR/downloads/ProLiantSupportPack/

Re: Unable to collect data from a Linux server

Thanks .

Is there any difference between net-snmp-agents and hp-snmp-agents?

We can install snmp agents after adding the server or snmp agents must be there to add the server to collection?

Re: Unable to collect data from a Linux server

hp-snmp-agents RPM plugs into the regular snmp daemon so more hardware specific information can be queried by tools like SIM.

Yes you can install hp-snmp-agents after the system has been discovered in SIM. The next time 'Identify System' is being run it should automatically add all the additional information.
