Unable to manage system in SIM

Hi ,
I am using SIM5.0, and trying to manage my local system which is win xp . But , in SIM ,after the automatic discovery , the status of my local system is "unknown" .
I am confused as how to make my system status to be managed . In my case , both CMS and Managed node are same .
W.R.T installation guide , i followed the steps need to make the system as managed node . Steps suggested were ,
(i) Install proliant pack for windows
--> this falis , saying " There is no support pack in this repository".

It would be very helpful if anyone can suggest me the exact steps .

Regards

Re: Unable to manage system in SIM

There is no PSP for Windows XP. You'll have to manage XP machines using WBEM or the *older* DMI agents or should go for the HP client manager (this is pretty complex). The best way is to enter the WBEM credentials for your XP machine in the global protocol settings page and then re-run identification and the data collection tasks.

Re: Unable to manage system in SIM

Hi ,
Thank you .
Now my data collection report includes all the process running in my system, Logical disk drives etc , which were not displayed before .

But Not all fields in the report are filled . for ex, Under CPU heading [under report] , the info of CPU type and CPU speed were displayed , but no detail for slot number , processor firmware id, processor load displayed .Similiarly under n/w interface table under report .

DO i need to do any more setting needs.

Thank you.

Re: Unable to manage system in SIM

No other settings need to be done. HPSIM is now displaying you whatever info it could collect using WBEM protocol. If any info is missing then it means that SIM is unable to collect them.
