from 4.0 to 4.1, i thought the info about the mannually addeed servers were in the file nodesecurity.xml but the new installed 4.1 dosnt seems to read the file... any ideas?

Re: Upgrading to 4.1 from 4.0

the nodesecurity.xml file contains the SNMP and WBEM user and password information for the default global protocol settings, system specific protocol settings and for discovered systems.

Since SIM 4.1 does not support upgrades you will need to rediscover all your devices.

Re: Upgrading to 4.1 from 4.0

I also had to "upgrade" but before removeing 4.0 if you create a host file you can re-add your systems from this when 4.1 is installed. Saves a bit of time (come on hp give us a proper upgrade)

Simon.
is there more to this box of bits???

Re: Upgrading to 4.1 from 4.0

Another alternative would be to use the mxnode -lf command on the 4.0 SIM server to create an xml file listing all nodes. Then you could use the mxnode -a -f command on the 4.1 SIM server to add the nodes.
