VC server terminating unexpectedly Event ID: 7031

I am have a hell of a time getting the VC agent running on one of our 2k servers. I have uninstalled and deleted the software and its folder and reinstalled and still it will not start. Anyone have any suggestions?

Have you tried removing all the agents, rebooting, re-installing the agents, rebooting again then re-applying SP4?

Is the HP Insight Foundation Agent running? I believe that it is required for the VC Agent.

Yes the foundation agent is running. All the insight services are working. I tried removing and reinstall all insight stuff. The insight agent the survey agent and the version control agent. I still can't get it to start. I have now found a second server doing that axact same thing.

Now I have found a third server that the VC will not start on. I have removed and deleted all Insight services and removed the folders and reinstalled and still VC will not start.

Are any errors or events created when you try and start either the Version Control Agent service, the SNMP service or any of the HP Insight Agent services?

Oppsss Sorry, for some reason I thought I posted that info already. It gives me the following error when starting VC.

"Could not start version control agent on local computer. Error 1067 : The process terminated unexpectedly"

Then in the Event System log I see this error.

Event ID: 7031

The Version Control Agent service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 3 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 0 milliseconds: No Action."

How about in the c:\cpqsystem\log\cpqsetup.log? Was there anything written there when you installed the VC agent?
