We are having this problem on all of our ML370G3 and G2 servers. It is finding drivers for hardware we do not have and reporting it out of date.

In addtion when we try and install 7.8 on our ML350G3 servers the agents will not install. HP recommended that we go back to 7.7 and then try 7.8 again.

HP support requested thgat I install psp7.70 over the top of 7.80, which didn't resolve the issue, an now my case is finally being "elevated" (I think they mean escalated).

I'm a VERY big fan of having green ticks everywhere, it means it so much easier to see a problem, downgrading the VCA and seeting a custome baseline would be a possible solution, but I just know that as soon as I do that there will be a critical update that I miss....

I am also having the same issues with multiple servers. DL360 G4, DL380 G4, etc. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.

Would be very interesting, what HP says according to this issue.....

very dissapointed in the last few updates (since 7.60 every time some issues to solve seperately :-( )

Also, there is after every update the "The HP ProLiant Remote Monitor Service" failing due to inexistent files :-((
--> had to install it manually by executing cp007314.exe out of the repository directory.

VERY, VERY BAD, HP!!

Rename or delete the Folder "Discovery" inside %systemdrive%\hp\hpsmh\data\cgi-bin\vcagent, this make VCA to get inventory as previous versions of VCA.

Which directory is the "discovery" directory?

What's the purpose of this directory? Would there be undesirable side-effects to this deletion?

"Discovery" folder inside "vcagent" will be used only by VCA for collecting Inventory even without foundation agent & SNMP installed.

Due to inconsistent inventory from this discovery engine, this folder can be removed, until VCA gets released with better engine.

This workaround was provided by Logapriyan;

This seems to make the VCA return to its previous behaviour.

Thanks it's nice to have confirmation that the workaround posted above is the official one.
Also nice to know it's been recognised as an issue and will be fixed.
