VCAgent 2.2 freezing when going to webpage

Hi there,

On servers which have the VCAgent of 2.2.0.820 , they all seem to be hanging when attempting to hit the https://servername:2381/vcagent webpage. Agents with different versions do not seem to have this problem. Is this a known issue at present? Is there a fix at all?

I am having the same issue and have noticed that the HP VCA Service stops every time you try to access or refresh the VCA webpage.

I have temporarily solve this by just copying and older version vcagent.exe file from a working machine's folder = C:\hp\hpsmh\data\cgi-bin\vcagent\

same issue here on all servers running VCA 2.2.0.820 (round about 100). Very often I cannot even stop (restart) the service, but have to use taskkill to get the VCA/SMH running again. This is very frustrating.

Also increased the smh timeout to 90sec, but it still doesn´t work...

Now I just tried the workaround with a older vcagent.exe and it seems to be working fine.

I will deploy the version 2.1.10.801 per copy script to all servers!

Hopefully there will be a fix very soon!!!

sorry, but because of missing permissions I did not complete the script and delegated the task to our domain admins.
But you can try it on your own, with a Custom Tool (Tools|Custom Tools|New Custom Tool).
The tools are xml based, and the documentation is practical, so you will get this working on you own i think.

I have been seeing this same issue on servers at multiple clients. I first thought it was related to IE 8, which was released around the same time, but troubleshooting that path produced no results.

The problem appears when selecting Install from the Version Control Agent page of the Management home page. A blank pop-up window opens up, with a URL of:

https://servername:2381/cgi-bin/vcagent/cgi

The window just hangs there, and I eventually gave up and ran the PSP file to install the updates.

Rolling back to 2.1.10.801 fixes the issue for me as well. The issue also exists in 2.2.1.830.

The solution: un-check the "Automatically Install Minimum Dependancies" check box. (D'oh!)
