VCRM Repository on Network Share

VCRM version 2.1

I was wondering if it's possible to move the VCRM Repository to a file server using a network share.

I've tried changing the Repository settings in VCRM using an explicit path name (\\\)

I've also tried a mapped drive on the server first, then using the mapped drive letter (\\\path is mapped as drive S: and try to configure VCRM to use drive S:)

Neither of these are acceptable to VCRM and produce an error message.

Haven't been able to find anything relating to this in searches, so I thought I'd ask here.
