Version Control Agent (again)
Hello!
And here is the next sad person ;-)
We use W2K3 SP1 and HP SIM 4.2.
We have no chance to use the Version Control Agent on some clients. For example: We have 10 HP server with W2K3 SP1 installed. All SNMP settings are set by Group Policy. Localhost and 127.0.0.1 are included. On some clients we have no problem to use the VCA and on others the usual error "The Version Control Agent encountered an error while obtaining the software and firmware inventory." occurs. But they are all identical!
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Tom

Re: Version Control Agent (again)
Tom,
If you have some servers that are working then you may want to try the Replicate Agent Settings feature in HPSIM. If you are concerned that it may cause you other problems you can try the replication on just one server and see if it fixes your issue. Basically, you just select a server that you know is working and then have HP SIM replicate those settings to one that is not. It is not a guarantee but it may be worth trying.

Re: Version Control Agent (again)
No, the replication of the agent settings did not solve the problem. Same behavior as before.
Greetings.
