Version Control Agent - Automate Configuration
I would like to automatically configure the Version Control agent on all of the servers in our estate to point to a new support pack (they all already point to an older support pack), is there an easy way to achieve this ?
I have copied the vcagent.options file from a pre-configured server to a new server, and this seems to work, not sure if this is correct or recommended though
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Version Control Agent - Automate Configuration
Basically, i use HP RDP to deploy me servers and PSP's. I preconfigure all settings in the PSP that i can for the VCA which basicall just point sit back to my SIM VCRM. Now, the way i was auto-configuring the VCA's to point to the correct PSP was by setting up auto tasks in SIM to run when a new server was added to certain groups i.e. when a new server 2003 OS was detected and identified it would be added to my Server 2003 SIM group. That group had a replicate agent settings task configured to run when a new memebr was added to it and it worked pretty well. it would eb nice if HP suppoerted this config from either the command line or otherwise
:(

Re: Version Control Agent - Automate Configuration
I suppose we could configure the exact same settings on two machines configured with the same PSP and do a binary compare on the 2 files!
I'll get back to you......
