VM Backup Repository Location

I have a MS Virtual Server 2005 host, and from SIM5.0 I want to make Virtual Machine backups of its virtual guests. The virtualization management software only allows me to select locally attached disks for the VM Backup Repository Location. I prefer to write to a mapped network drive instead. Can this be done in some way and how?
