VPM acquires no updates - repository empty
I am trying to get VPM working on our HPSIM 4.2 (W2K3) server. I have worked through several problems already because of ssh and domain/local authentication. Also, we have an authenticating proxy in our environment.
I am now using a local account on the server, and have read and followed the instructions on he OpenSSH and the VPM security whitepapers. Also, I have setup the proxy server and authentication in the options->v&PM->settings to use the same proxy/user/pw as I am using for the VCRM which works great.
When I select acquire the task shows complete and says look in the VPM event list. There I see a "Started VPM Acquisition" event, and withing 1-5 min I see a "Completed VPM Acquisition" message with the details:
Source : MICROSOFT,HP_VPM Host : cim User : CIM Start Time : 20050218T20:09:34Z End Time : 20050218T20:11:02Z Bulletins added : 0 Bulletins updated : 0 Patches added : 0 Patches updated : 0 Errors : 0
My VPM repository is empty, and I have always seen all 0's in the message.
Other issues I have already overcome are, mxauthentication errors when trying to run tasks, illegal user domain\\username when trying to use ssh, installing the agent to another host, scanning this host and another host. So, now I just want to get some patches and try to install them.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Re: VPM acquires no updates - repository empty
In terms of VPM Aquisition I believe you can rule out SSH as it should not be involved.
I had a similar error, Proxy details did not seem to work.
We have a proxy by-pass for selected Servers and so I got the VPM Server added to this and VPM Aquisition worked.
I'm not too sure where in the Proxy negotiations VPM Aquisition was failing here, but it seemed the account and password I should have been able to use, and do use for other external automatic connections did not work for VPM.
