WBEM Status Events - Changing Severity

Hello,

Is it possible to change the severity of WBEM Status Events?  I know you can do this with SNMP messages (example, I changed all tape drive alerts to be minor instead of major).  I don't see a direct way to do this in the GUI.

Thank you,

Lance

Re: WBEM Status Events - Changing Severity

SNMP Trap severity are defined by the HPSIM and can be editted by user. But in case WBEM indication Provider define the same, so it can't be edit using GUI.
if it helped, award me Kudos or Points. Thanks :)

Re: WBEM Status Events - Changing Severity

Tushar, yes i knew this already. The GUI doesn't give you a way to alter the severity - so I was asking if there was an alternative way.

A good example - NIC redundancy. We don't consider this a 'major' event, so i wanted to lower it to 'Minor' for ESXi hosts, but I do not know if this is possible.

So my real question is - is it possible to change these severities?

Thank you..

Can you share the event that you want change, so that i can look into it.

Re: WBEM Status Events - Changing Severity

Tushar,

Here is an event - this came in as 'Critical' and i really don't want these to be - 'Minor' would be fine.   'Critical' for us is something that needs attention immediately and we don't consider network redundancy to be all that critical.

Thank you..
