Why can't SIM measure up to CIM 5.2?

Why can't SIM measure up to CIM 5.2?

I'm in an environment with about 30 Windows servers and 50 Netware servers.

SIM is a huge improvement over CIM 5.2 for Windows servers, with the new automatic trust-relationships, etc. For the Netware servers though, we still find CIM 5.2 for Windows to be much easier and quicker to diagnose problems.

Drilling down to determine why a server went yellow, for example, takes just seconds and requires no authentication (other than the pre-set SNMP strings).

Why can't SIM function in the same way? Why must the web-based server agent require authentication to clear an alert, whereas the Win32 console version needs only SNMP strings to have full rights to the server agents?

Until we're entirely off of Netware, am I just going to be better off using two solutions to manage our servers?

Thanks,
Eric
