Will Insight Control v7.3 be released for Linux?

(I know that SIM v7.3 for Linux was released; I'm referring to all the Insight Control plug-ins

like:

• Performance management
• Power management
• Server migration
• Virtual machine management
• )

The current Insight Control v7.3 web page states Windows-only for CMS.

Hello Richard,

I guess that SIM and Insight Control are both replaced by Oneview, so I don't expect to much development on either products other than Oneview.

Hi,

'One day' Oneview will replace HP SIM but it will not be the first year... Since it will support only Gen8 servers and above, it will not be for soon... Somewhere I heard also that HP SIM will support the next gen 9 servers that will be released somewhere later this year. I have no information on 7.3 for Linux however... You should ask to someone working for HP...

So HP SIM and Insight Control is definitely not EOL (yet)...

Gen9 so at least one more year and than probably some time past that. I'm looking at Oneview at the moment to see how mature it is at this time.

Hi Andrew,

Indeed I expect somewhere with version 1.4 or so that it will be comparable with Insight Control...

I am currently using Oneview already in my 'datacenter' lab... Check out my blog, I have already 2 posts published on the installation and network configuration... More coming soon...

Hi Bart,

Are you using any non-VC switches by any chance?

It seems that OneView is designed for  FlexFabric-type switches, so I wonder how much is 

lost if the switches are standard stuff like 6120XG.
