WMI monitoring VMWare
Hello,
I have a custom servers database application that pulls inventory info from SIM to populate the hardware portion of our servers. Works great with standard servers running the HP agents.
Now we are going to roll out VMWare and using WMI (WBEM?) I can collect SOME information, but not all that I am used to seeing from the HP agents.
Specifically it is not collecting any disk information. Is WMI supposed to be able to see this? Does this work with normal servers but maybe because the disks are virtualized, WMI cannot pick up that information and send it back to SIM?
Anyone else using WMI for Virtual Machines? Can you see disk information for your VMs?
(Note - I am not talking about the ESX server itself, but the guest servers which do not have any HP agents for them).
Thanks
Nelson

Re: WMI monitoring VMWare
Never mind - I re-ran a data collection job on my test VM guest OS and now I can see the disks and all sorts of other good stuff. I just assumed that because I could see the processor and memory information, the data collection had already run.
