Wrong PSP software installing

I am setting up a new ProLiant ML370 G5. I am installing PSP 8.3 and for some reason the Online ROM flash for Windows power management controller (c-class blade)keeps installing. I am not installing any blade softwre or firmware. Any idea where it is coming from? I believe it says it is version 1.5, but I cna't even find that on HP's software site. Maybe an issue with the new VCA?

Re: Wrong PSP software installing

The newer VCA certainly includes the new Power Management check. I think it came in with 8.30.

Is there a reported installed version of the firmware in the VCA display? If so, what does it say it is?

The software I have is in the Blade Bundle (cp011301.exe) and is version 3.4. It doesn't seem to be in the 8.30 PSP. Well not the W2K3 ones I have.

Re: Wrong PSP software installing

There was a PCI-Express Power Management Update that I was not installing since I knew it was for a blade. I was surprised to see it even show in the PSP install choices.

I did this over and over and the "Online ROM flash for windows power controller (c-class blade)" kept installing! It was not even an option in the PSP text file. It was installing version 1.5, which I couldn't even find on HP's site.

I have used the 8.30 PSP for 2003 with no problems, and I finally wondred if it might be an issue with the PSP installer for 2008. I began again and used PSP 8.25. I had no problems with unwanted software!!!

Re: Wrong PSP software installing

You're ahead of me there, we don't have any W2K8 physical servers as yet. so I've not installed that PSP anywhere.
Shouldn't be the VCA as it seems to be the same image for both W2K8 and W2K3.

The only online Power Manager firmware I've seen is version 3.4.
