I don't understand about 2N, 1+1, N+1 power redundancy. what does if mean? how are they different?

Hi,
in hp documentations you will often find "N+1", this means, you have 1 more than needed (fans, power supplies).

Hi,
2N -> you will have 2 times of minimum power supplies needed, for example, minimum power supply is 2, then you will have 4 power supply
N+1 -> you will have only 1 extra power supply from minimum needed, for examples minimum power supply is 2, then you will have 3 power supply
1+1 = 2 :) never heard this one
