CPU upgrade on HP360 G9 server

Hello Community,

Good Day !!

I have one DL360 G9 server running with 7.9 rhel with 56 CPU. Client is asking to increasing CPU on servers due to their work load, Since server is already EOL on 31/10/2023.

What are risks involved in it ?

What are steps to upgrade ?

is HPE support available ?

Here you can find the resources for your server.
Please refer to the server QuickSpecs for CPU upgrade information.

Mixing of E5-2600 v3 and E5-2600 v4 processors is not supported.
If only one processor is installed, only half of the total DIMM slots are available. When populating with two processors all DIMM slots are available.
See page# 43 for memory configuration information.

Regarding the steps, its recommended to upgrade BIOS first before upgrading / installling the processor.
