Hello,
I have a Proliant DL360P with P420 raid controller.
On the server I have 3 SAS disks, two configured in RAID0 and one as a hot spare.
One disk is broken (Amber led) and the controller has used the hot spare disk.
I want know, if I replace the broken disk with a new disk, the new disk is hot spare or i must config it?
I need power off the server?
Thank you

SolutionHi,
According to the SSA Guide.
Online Spare Mode
The value for this option specifies the behavior of the spare drives when they are activated. For controllers that support Auto Replace Drive, setting this value to AutoReplace enables a rebuilt spare drive to become a data drive in the array. When the failed data drive is replaced, it assumes the role of the former spare, eliminating the need for a second array rebuild.
Thank You!
