Hp proliant disk error or non operating system error
Hi guys
So I have little problem, when a start server, which by is hp proliant dl380 G6,. Shows me error thats say something close to this "disk error or non operating system. Try to remove the disk without a operating system".
I have operating system, windows server 2019
This error already happen a few weeks ago, when was trying to install a operating system, but same how, it worked and after that, the energy of my house turned off. And server restart no problem. Until today....
What I am thinking is wrong is the smart array that was the battery for a long time, more than 2 years.
What are you guys thinking is the problem?
Best regards

Re: Hp proliant disk error or non operating system error
Hello,
If the cache battery is disabled, it will still allow to boot into the operating system. Without the battery there would be loss of application data when there is loss of power.
If the server does not boot into the operating system, then restart the server and press F8 during POST prompt to launch Option ROM Configuration for Arrays (ORCA), the utility that enables configuration of RAID arrays, and check the status of the RAID.
- If the RAID array is not present, or if the RAID array has been broken due to multiple defective drives beyond the fault tolerance, then the server would not boot into operating system.
- This would then need installing working hard drives and then building the array afresh, install operating system afresh and then restoring data.
- If the RAID is intact, then check for error message that indicate failure to boot into operating system.
