Re: HP SERVER CONSOLE SWITCH KVM.
Asim,
Assuming this is the 336044-B21 0x1x8 HP Server Console Switch.
1. No this is not an IP Console Switch it only supports KVM
2. The serial download connector is to allow firmware updates to be loaded onto the switch. The RJ45 connector next to the Keyboard, Video and mouse connectors is used to tier switches so that you can connect switches together.
3. Switches can tiered by connecting from one of the 8 KVM ports on the switch to the tiering connector on the second switch. You can connect up to 8 switches from a single master switch in this fashion creating a switch solution of up to 64 ports or 128 ports using the 0x2x16 Switch.
You can find more information about this switch at http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/rack-options/scs/index-kvm.html
Thanks
