Hp system management hompage v7.3.2.1

hi all,

We try to hide webserver information (like jetty version/PHP version)

We did try to edit those .conf like apache servertoken prod , php.ini add expose_php=off, but when restarting the Hp system management service those .conf all go back to default settings,

how to correctly edit them without changing ?

thank you for any help

@lcwong

Good day!

To hide web server information and prevent the .conf files from reverting to default settings when restarting the HP System Management service, you can try the following steps:

1. Make sure you have administrative access to the server hosting the HP System Management homepage.
2. Locate the configuration file for the web server used by HP System Management. In this case, it seems to be Jetty. The exact location of the configuration file may vary depending on the operating system and installation setup.
3. Open the Jetty configuration file in a text editor.
4. Look for any configuration directives related to server tokens or version information. These directives might be specific to Jetty or inherited from a parent configuration file.
5. Modify the directives to suppress the display of server tokens or version information. The exact configuration may vary depending on the version of Jetty you are using, but it typically involves setting values like "ServerTokens" or "ServerSignature" to "Off" or "Prod".
6. Save the changes to the configuration file.
7. To ensure the changes persist even after restarting the HP System Management service, you may need to prevent the service from overwriting the configuration file. There are a few approaches you can try:
* Check if there is a separate configuration file specifically for HP System Management. If so, make the modifications in that file instead of the default Jetty configuration file. This can help prevent the service from reverting your changes.
* Look for any options or command-line parameters that allow you to specify a custom configuration file for the HP System Management service. By providing a custom configuration file, you can ensure that your modifications are preserved.
* If possible, back up the modified configuration file, and then configure your system to restore the modified file after the service restarts.
After making these changes, restart the HP System Management service to apply the modified configuration.

Note: The specific steps and configuration options may vary depending on the version of Jetty and the setup of your HP System Management installation.

Sorry for writing so much. I hope this helps! Let me know....
These are my opinions so use it at your own risk.
