Yes, it is possible to directly connect the HPE LCD8500 to a PC without a KVM switch. As you mentioned, the LCD8500 has VGA and USB ports for the keyboard and mouse, so you can connect your PC to the monitor and use its built-in keyboard and mouse to control the PC.

To do this, you need to connect the VGA cable from the PC to the VGA port on the LCD8500 and connect the USB cable from the PC to the USB port on the LCD8500 labeled "KB/MS." Then, you can use the keyboard and mouse on the LCD8500 to control the PC.

Note that you may need to adjust the input settings on the LCD8500 to ensure it is set to the VGA input. You can do this by pressing the "Input" button on the front panel of the LCD8500 and selecting VGA from the menu that appears.

Also, keep in mind that the LCD8500 is designed to be used with servers, so its keyboard and mouse may have specialized functions or layouts that may not work optimally with a standard PC.

These are my opinions so use it at your own risk.

Yes, it is possible to directly connect the HPE LCD8500 to a PC without a KVM switch. The HPE LCD8500 is equipped with VGA and USB ports for keyboard and mouse connections. If your PC has VGA output and USB ports for keyboard and mouse, you can connect them directly to the corresponding ports on the HPE LCD8500. Connect the VGA cable from your PC's VGA output to the VGA input port on the HPE LCD8500. Connect the USB keyboard and USB mouse cables from your PC to the USB ports on the HPE LCD8500 labeled for keyboard and mouse. Most monitors have an option to switch between different input sources. On the HPE LCD8500, there might be a button or menu option to select the input source. Choose the appropriate input source corresponding to the VGA connection. Once the connections are made and the correct input source is selected, you should be able to use the HPE LCD8500's screen, keyboard, and mouse to interact with your PC directly.
