Industry's First NVMe Boot Device

VMware recently notified users that using SD card/USB as a bood device option will no longer be supported.

Good news for HPE ProLiant, Apollo and HPE Synergy users is that HPE and Marvell teamed up to deliver the industry's first NVMe boot device that provides dedicated, non-networked RAID storage to be used exclusively for OS boot. The HPE NS204i boot devices are now available for most HPE Gen10 and Gen10 Plus servers.

NS204i-p for ProLiant Gen10 and Gen10 Plus servers

NS204i-r for ProLiant DL36x Gen10 Plus servers

NS024i-d for HPE Synergy Gen10 Plus servers

NS204i-t for HPE Apollo 2000 servers

Check out this blog for details on how this revolutionary boot device checks all the boxes to be the best low cost boot solution for any server (not just VMware) and keeps all the server storage bays available for user data.
