Install a SSL certiciate on IP KVM
Hi all,
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a good place to post this question, but since HP sells these things along with the servers, maybe this is as good a place as any.
Does anyone know how to generate a certicate for the Web server on an IP KVM switch that's signed by a CA? There's no way to generate a CSR or export the private key.
I figured this out a long time ago, but then my network administrator decided to reset the switch back to factory defaults one day because a user couldn't log in. I can't for the life of me remember what I did to generate the cert.
Any help is appreciated!
Best,
- Steve

Re: Install a SSL certiciate on IP KVM
Hi Brian,
Thanks for the reply. I might be able to do it using OpenSSL, but I'm not sure. I've fooled around with OpenSSL in the past. But here's the thing - if I can't generate a CSR from the KVM, when wouldn't I have to be able to import both the certificate AND the keypair generated by OpenSSL? The KVM's interface only allows me to import the cert.
Thanks,
- Steve
